Lakeway Police Department building nearly complete
The Lakeway Police Department issued a new schedule for the completion of its new building on Lohmans Crossing. The construction process is more than 90 percent complete, and so far more than $16 million has been billed toward the $23 million project.

“As of March 1 we’ll take over lock and key of that building, so it will be ours from that day,” Lakeway Police Chief Todd Radford said, adding one of his main concerns with the new building may be potential information technology issues, but overall he and his department are very excited.
The schedule shows the building’s back room will be set up by March 4; the furniture will be delivered and installed by March 11; the communications equipment will be installed by March 18, and the move-in date is scheduled for April 15.
The project broke ground in February 2018, and the 31,000-square-foot facility is expected to serve Lakeway for the next 25 years. Voters approved funding for the project in May 2017.
